MISSTRI

About the Band

MISSTRI is a scintillating soul sensation with a delectable dose of that delicious 60’s soulful sound.

Yes, MISSTRI is a hot-blooded eight-piece Soul band with the three soul sisters, Miss Marion, Miss Debora and Miss Debby upfront.

MISSTRI kicks off 2016 with the launch of its brand new dazzling single and video clip, “Whoop Whoop” (referring to texting these words on the band-Whatsapp), which is a flavourful foretaste of the band’s upcoming debut album.

MISSTRI sweeps one into a scintillating soul sensation, ‘MISSTRIFYING’ audiences with the glitter, glamour and sounds of Motown, Stax, Aretha Franklin, Ike and Tina Turner and legendary female vocal groups such as The Supremes. Backed by the sweltering, steamy sounds of the funkadelic Funkbrothers, the MISSTRI experience is a celebration of Hitsville USA.

MISSTRI made use of a special vintage Ludwig drum kit in the recording sessions. This selfsame drum kit served dutifully on the Holland - America passenger liners in the 1960s. It, along with the other vintage instruments used, was specially chosen to give MISSTRI’s music its deliciously tantalizing authentic Vintage Soul sound. No effort was spared, no corners were cut and the result, undeniably, sounds like a ‘real deal’ Motown classic.

The MISSTRI concept came about after a special guest performance by Debora and her ladies’ vocal harmony trio at one of the annual “Blues Brothers Tribute” concerts in Willich, Germany. Their performance turned out to be a musical highlight of the show. With compliments pouring in from all sides, miss Marion, miss Debora and Miss Debby, united by their unfailing friendship, realized that the show simply had to go on. The result was the birth of MISSTRI. The band soon expanded into an eight-piece party band, made up of like-minded musician friends and colleagues, with the ladies’ unique and inspirational three-part vocal harmonies leading the way.

In 2013, MISSTRI debuted with their upbeat Motown-style single, “Love Is A Mystery”, bearing the uplifting message that, “just when you think you’ll never find it again, love will find you.” With the success of the single, the band soon secured bookings for various shows, including support act appearances for Incognito and Shakatak at Cultuurpodium de Boerderij in Zoetermeer.

Let MISSTRI transport you back to the groove and swinging vibe of those heyday soul music sounds and remind you that love is indeed a MISSTRI!
